Digital transformation in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector requires continuous evolution of the tools we rely on daily. To ensure top-tier performance, security, and modern collaborative capabilities, the Bluebeam team is focusing its resources on advancing its modern platforms.
As part of this evolution, Bluebeam Revu 20 is officially entering its End-of-Life (EOL) phase.
If you are currently a Revu 20 license holder (and have not yet upgraded to a subscription plan for Revu 21), or if your organization continues to utilize Revu 20 seats, please take note of the following critical dates for this year:
-
July 31st, 2026 – End of Support: Technical Support and license management for Revu 20 will officially end. This includes the ability to reassign existing licenses to different machines or workstations.
-
December 31st, 2026 – End of Life: Revu 20 will no longer be able to access Bluebeam’s cloud services. This means access to Studio Sessions, Studio Projects, and related API integrations will be discontinued. While Revu 20 will continue to run locally on your computers, all connections to Bluebeam's cloud ecosystem will cease.
Why Now?
As technology, security requirements, and customer workflows continue to evolve rapidly, the underlying systems supporting Revu 20 no longer meet high standards for performance, integration, and security.
Maintaining parallel legacy solutions alongside modern platforms becomes increasingly difficult over time. This transition is less about changing licensing models and more about enabling faster innovation and the continuous delivery of new capabilities. The goal is to ensure that our customers and partners are positioned to utilize solutions that remain highly competitive, fully supported, and capable of meeting future industry requirements.
How to Ensure a Smooth Transition
Please be reassured that this is not the first notification regarding Revu 20’s lifecycle. Communication regarding the upcoming Revu 20 EOL originally began in September 2023, with advanced notice and program incentives offered along the way to assist with transitions to supported versions of Revu.
Moving forward to a supported version (such as Revu 21 and the Bluebeam Cloud platform) will not only eliminate the risk of workflow disruptions but will also unlock new opportunities for efficiency, mobility, and seamless collaboration across the office and the jobsite.
